The AB gate serves as the only access passage for police officers, external visitors, escort of inmates and drug rehabilitation detainees, as well as goods transportation in prisons and drug rehabilitation centers. It is the sole link connecting the interior of correctional facilities with the outside world and a core area for ensuring prison security. At present, risks of escape still exist in the AB gate scenario, where inmates and drug rehabilitation detainees may attempt to flee by disguise, concealment and other means. To prevent major safety incidents of this kind, safety prevention and control must not be overlooked. Manpower management systems, technical defense measures and standardized supervision implementation are all indispensable.
1. Project Policy Background
● In accordance with the construction specifications of the Smart Rock Project, build an AB gate management and control system, and install dynamic face recognition equipment, biometric access control equipment, vehicle identification devices and automatic vehicle blocking equipment.
● Important entrances and exits including the main gate of the drug rehabilitation management area, exits and entrances of work training workshops, and visitor access of interview rooms shall be equipped with hand-held metal detectors or walk-through metal detection doors to effectively detect metal articles.
● A visitor management system shall be deployed at the main gate of the drug rehabilitation management area.
● Drug detectors are recommended to be installed at the main gate of the drug rehabilitation management area for drug inspection.
2. Business Status
● Low level of electronization and intelligence: At present, paper-based registration is widely adopted for entry and exit management at the AB gates of most prisons, with no intelligent management means available.
● Isolated independent systems: Video monitoring, access control and other systems corresponding to AB gates operate independently without complementary integration.
● Difficult traceability of personnel and vehicle access: No historical access records are kept for personnel and vehicles, resulting in great difficulties in subsequent traceability and investigation.
